We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Kids love to play in water, especially in the Summer! We discussed free splash pads already, but there are also a ton of public water parks and aquatic centers all over North Dallas.
This weekend, we visited Apex Centre in McKinney. Apex Centre is an 80,000-square-foot aquatics and fitness facility. If you live in McKinney, it’s a great alternative to other name brand, national chain gyms. You don’t even need a membership to visit, since they offer day pass admission as well.
We went specifically for the water park. The main attraction is definitely the tower sporting four large water slides. Our kids aren’t tall enough for the big slides, but there are still plenty of areas for smaller children to play in. We especially enjoyed the lazy river. We had a great time pretending to race with other guests!
Like many public pools and water parks, there are plenty of life guards on staff, and they were all very attentive and polite. There is plenty of seating and shaded areas to relax. You can even rent cabanas if you want!
