Amusement Park Science

Description: Gives visitors an interactive look at the physics behind the fun at amusement parks. Featuring 12 hands-on exhibit components, Amusement Park Science was researched, developed and produced by Discovery Center Museum via the five-museum national consortium TEAMS (Traveling Exhibitions At Museums of Science) – with additional funding from the National Science Foundation. Hours: Tues – Fri @ 10am-5pm; Sat @10am-6pm; Sun @12pm-6pm. Closed Mondays.

Bob the Builder: Project Build It!

This exhibit will really “build” curiosity, socialization and motor skills for preschoolers and young children!

Deep Sea After Dark Sleepover

Enjoy a late-night pizza snack, auditorium show, hands-on workshop, exhibit tour, scavenger hunt through exhibits, continental breakfast in the morning plus an eye-opening IMAX® film! Description: Planet Shark: Predator or Prey will bring the ultimate out-of-water shark experience. From evolution and biology to popular culture and the fin trade, this 12,000-square-foot traveling exhibition will guide visitors through the murky myths and fascinating facts that have surrounded sharks for centuries. Planet Shark will feature full-scale specimen models including an 18-foot Great White, rare fossils dating 380 million years, interactive displays, thousands of teeth, mega-sized jaws and more. Fascinating interview footage from shark attack survivors, images and other archives will be on view, along with movie memorabilia including original posters, props and more from the 1975 classic Jaws.

Description: Experience the wonders of nighttime star-gazing during the day! The MNS Planetarium offers the ideal way to learn all the beautiful names for those bright objects in the sky. The Planetarium will be open to the public with Saturday schedule Monday, January 16, for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Sea Rex: Journey to a Prehistoric World
