Fruit and Cheese Sticks
The kids will have a great time making these colorful fruit snacks for sure! Sweet and tangy fruit combined with the soft cheese cubes, these snacks are not just healthy and delicious but also extremely easy to make!
Ingredients:
Diced pineapple
Diced strawberries
Seeded cherries
Diced cantaloupe
Diced cheese cubes
Toothpicks/cocktail sticks
Preparation
Just place the diced fruits and cheese cubes in separate bowls. Ask the kids to pick up the toothpicks and spear the fruits of their choice along with the cheese cubes! The kids will have a great time coming up with different fruit combination, and you can join in as well! Cooking doesn’t get more interactive than this!
Easy and Delicious Campfire Pizza
Although a cheese and fruit snack can be a great appetizer, it cannot be the main course. When it comes to pizza, children never say no – so here is an interesting campfire pizza recipe for the tiny tots!
Ingredients:
Pita bread
Pizza sauce
Chopped tomatoes
Chopped olives
Chopped jalapeno peppers
Mozzarella cheese
Preparation
You can ask the kids to spread the pizza sauce on the pita breads. Allow the kids to add toppings of their choice as well as wholesome amounts of shredded cheese. Fold the pizza in a foil and hold it over the campfire grill. Allow it to cook, but keep checking regularly to ensure that it is not overcooked!
Strawberry -Nuts Cookie Sandwich
Desserts in camping food need not be boring and predictable! Here is an innovative dessert recipe, which can be easily made, and an interesting activity for children and adults to participate! The combination of crunchy cookies with soft marshmallow cream, with crispy nuts and topped with yummy strawberry jam is simply mouth watering!
Ingredients:
Marshmallow cream
Toasted and sliced almonds
Toasted and sliced cashews
Oatmeal cookies
Strawberry Jam/Preserves
Preparation
Spread generous quantities of marshmallow cream onto an oatmeal cookie. Add the sliced almonds and cashew nuts on the cream layer. Place another cookie on top of the cream and nuts layer. Squeeze the cream and nuts layer between the two cookies and top it with a spoonful of yummy strawberry jam or preserves.
