Fun Camp Games
Camping is one of the most liked outdoor recreational activities in the summers not only for kids but elders as well. Summer camps give an opportunity to the kids and young children to explore the outside world and live for a few days in a different world. But just watching fire and relishing food might make the camps very boring. So why not plan for some interesting camp games for large groups to make the camp even more memorable. The fun camp games are just a means to teach the kids in their own way to work in a team, become self-dependent and develop confidence. Here are some fun camp games to play, for kids as well as for youth. The full preparation for the camp must include the games to make it more electrifying.Fun Camp Games for Kids
After the exams, kids love to spend their vacation out of the world of books, so camping for two to three days might be a great idea. Out of so many things to do while camping, fun camp games for kids are the most liked ones. So here we go…
Look Up - Look Down
For this simple and interesting game, the players should be in even number and one facilitator should be appointed. Ask all the players to stand in a circle with their heads-down. The facilitator will instruct the group to either "look-up" or "look-down" as per his or her choice. When the facilitator yells "look-up", the participants have to look at each other's and once they look at somebody, they have to become still (the players cannot change their direction of sight until the next instruction). If they look into each other's eyes that is, maintain eye contact, then they have to shout at the top of their voice and the one who shouts last will be out of the game. Repeat this until only two players are left. To decide a winner among the remaining two players, a tug of war can be organized.
Balloon Popping
This game requires one balloon for each participant. Before the game begins, the balloons should be blown by the players and tied to their one ankle with the string. The length of the string should not be more than one foot. The appointed facilitator should make it a point that he or she marks an area for the players. Once the players are ready with the balloon tied at their ankles, ask them to pop the balloons of other players with the help of their feet. They should not forget to protect their own balloon as well. The player whose balloon has been popped should leave the field. The one who survives with the balloon until the end is declared the winner.
Fun Camp Games for Youth
For youth, the main aim of camping is to develop a sense of teamwork among them. Here are some outdoor team building games during camps. Apart from learning, these fun camp games for youth are a great source of enjoyment as well.
Lighthouse
Before starting the game, collect few things that are big in size (the rucksacks of the campers can also be used). Divide the participants of the camp into two teams. Define an area for the game and scatter the things (which will be the obstacles) in that area. Consider that area to be a river and ask the members of one team to become lighthouses in between the obstacles. Blind fold a member (the boat) of other team and leave him at the bank of the river. Now the task is to direct the boat to cross the river. The instructions are to be given by the members of the 2nd team by just telling the direction (east-west-north-south-left-right-back-front). The time taken to cross the river has to be noted down by the facilitator and the team taking lesser time to finish will be the winner.
Apple Balancing
Divide the players in two teams and make them stand in a two straight queues. Place a chair in front of the two lines at a distance of 10-12ft. Keep an apple on the chair and give a spoon to the first and second player of the each team. The task is to fetch the apple kept at the distance on the spoon. The apple has to be brought on the spoon and passed on to the next player having the spoon. The rule of the game is to use the hands only for keeping the apple from the chair on the spoon. This back and forth with the apple on the spoon has to be repeated until the defined number of rounds decided by the facilitator. The teams that finishes first gets apple as the reward.
Outdoor fun camp games and activities make the camping trip thrilling and interesting. Building teams and having a blast is the most appropriate way to spend the extra energy stored in the body. Make sure that these games are supervised by an experienced person or facilitator to avoid any kind of mishap. So go ahead and have a gala time!!!
