A&Z Collectibles

This week's featured business is A&Z Collectibles, also located in downtown old Frisco. If you were curious about this store, now is the time to get to know them better! They're having a FUNDRAISER THIS WEEK!

A&Z Collectibles and Fire Supply opened its doors July 1st, 2004 and is a proud member of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. A&Z is located in downtown Frisco next to the Boys & Girls Club on Main Street.

A&Z is a very unique place to shop. Aubrey Lewis, a McKinney Firefighter, knows all the right supplies and gear to carry for his fellow Firefighters and Paramedics - brands you'd recognize like Thorogood, Quest, Streamlight, and more . A&Z also carries items for the “Little Firefighter” at home such as party supplies, firemen figurines, hats and even child-sized firemen jackets & boots! If you collect the Firefighter Trading Card sets with pictures of fire apparatus from various fire departments, you’ll find them here! Aubrey says they can’t seem to keep the firefighter charm bracelets in stock! They sell as quickly as they come in!

If you’re a toy collector, you’ll also love this store as they carry high end collectibles and die cast items such as: Bella Productions, Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning, Erector, The Boyd’s Collection, Madame Alexander, Robert Tonner Doll, collectible Barbie dolls and many more!

The selection doesn’t stop there – even if you’re not a collector - their store features Jay-Jay the Jetplane, BRIO, plush and collectible animals, Sci-Fi and fantasy items and much much more! Shopping there is easy since they have a Jay-Jay and BRIO table to keep your little one occupied as your browse around!

Being a family-owned & operated store, you’ll often be welcomed not just by Aubrey, but by one of his young children too! (A true testament that the store is child-friendly!) Due to Aubrey’s Firefighter schedule, their hours vary. Please call first to verify they are open. Their weekly schedule is always posted on the door too. Every third day and on Sunday they are closed but, open every Saturday from 11am – 6pm. During the week their hours are 10am – 4pm.

If you’ve been wondering what their store is all about, now is a good time to check it out! Join A&Z December 6 – 11, 2004 to help raise funds for the new Frisco Public Safety Officer Recovery Fund. 20% of every purchase made during that week will go to the “Frisco Public Safety Officer Recovery Fund.” All money from this fund is used to assist Frisco’s injured or fallen Police and Firefighters and their families, such as the recently injured Detective Leah Apple & Officer Alan Rogan of the Frisco Police Department. Kiddin' Around

Kiddin' Around Playcare opened its doors in August 2004 and is a proud member of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. Kiddin' Around is a licensed drop in playcare center that provides quality care for children age 6 weeks to 12 years. Rates are very reasonable with discounts for pre-paid plans.

If you'd like to treat yourselves to a "date night," or just have time to run errands during the day without the children, this is THE place to drop off your little ones & feel good about it. The kids will love this place! Trust me!

The playcare centers were built with your child in mind complete with basketball court, movie theater, indoor play gym, home center and much, much more. They even have a 1950s style soda fountain counter for the kids to eat their snacks and meals. Meals are kid-friendly (Bagel Bites, Corny dogs, Mac & Cheese, etc) and only $3.00! Not only is the staff is very friendly; they are first aid trained and CPR certified.

Kiddin' Around's concept may be new to Frisco, but not to Coppell. Their Coppell facility opened in August 2000 and since then has served over 2000 families from Coppell and the surrounding areas. The success is spreading to Flower Mound with plans to open a new facility in 2005. Debbie says she’s very excited about the expansion.

For your convenience Kiddin' Around is open Monday thru Saturday with extended hours on Friday & Saturday night until midnight. To make it more fun for the kids, Friday and Saturday nights are Pizza Night!

Tuesday December 21st at 9:30am is their Ribbon Cutting with the Frisco Chamber of Commerce. Let’s welcome them to Frisco!
