The Cavanaugh Flight Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to promoting aviation studies and to perpetuating America's aviation heritage; the museum fulfills its mission by restoring, operating, maintaining and displaying historically-significant, vintage aircraft, and by collecting materials related to the history of aviation.

Chestnut Square Historic Village

Chestnut Square Historic Villageis a collection of six historic homes, a replica of a one-room school house, chapel and store on 2.5 acres just south of the downtown McKinney square.

The grounds also include a blacksmith shop, smoke house, and beautiful chapel and reception gardens. The buildings include period artifacts showing how people lived in Collin County from 1854-1920.

Collin County Farm Museum

The Farm Museum has 30,000 square feet of exhibit space covering 100 years of Farm History. The Farm Museum consists of 8,528 square feet in the Wells Building, the blacksmith shop, the granary and the confinement house.

Dallas Children's Museum

Four diorama halls which include fifty dioramas of Texas wildlife, each using real specimens from the Museum’s collections, including all major biotic provinces of Texas.

Other permanent halls include: Ocean Dallas, Ice Age Dallas, Paleo Prep Lab, Live Animal Room, Texas Dinosaurs Hall; Verizon Technology Center; Science Bulletins.

The Museum also has a traveling exhibits program which brings a new exhibit every 3-4 months covering a wide range of topics.

Heard Natural Science Museum

The Heard's indoor exhibits provide an interactive environment in which visitors can discover, enjoy and experience various aspects of the Texas natural environment. Several permanent and rotating collections.

Wildlife Sanctuary: Beautiful 289-acre sanctuary where visitors can walk on seven different nature trails. Five different ecosystems on the sanctuary including a wetlands and prairie. Interurban Railway Museum

The Interurban Railway Museum is housed in a restored depot that served Plano from 1908 until 1948. Historical exhibits detail Plano's early days and even before then and highlight the forces that shaped what the city has become. A train car outside the depot has been restored to show what the mail cars and passenger cars of the time looked like.

Pecan Grove Cemetery

Situated on property originally granted by the Republic of Texas in 1845, Pecan Grove is the final resting place for many Texas pioneers, from Governors to gunslingers. Heroes of the Texas Revolution are interred here, as are veterans of the Mexican War, The Civil War, and every war thereafter.

Texas State Railroad
